Kate DiCamillo is one of America's most beloved storytellers. She is the author of The  Tale  of  Despereaux, which was awarded the Newbery Medal; Because  of  Winn-Dixie, a Newbery Honor winner; The Tiger Rising, a National Book Award finalist; The  Magician's  Elephant, a New  York  Times bestseller; and six books starring Mercy Watson, including the Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor book Mercy  Watson  Goes  for  a  Ride. She also co-wrote three books with Alison McGhee about a pair of friends, Bink and Gollie, one of which, Bink & Gollie, won the Theodor Seuss Geisel Medal.

K. G. Campbell is the winner of an Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Honor for Lester’s Dreadful Sweaters, which has also received the Golden Kite Award. He was born in Kenya, raised in Scotland, and now lives in southern California.
